Step by Step

6 Simple steps to apply to the Generations Fund C.A.P.S. Program

STEP 1: Enter the anonymous C.A.P.S. Eligibility Calculator and receive instant preliminary results

Please enter the C.A.P.S. Eligibility Calculator located on the Generations Fund homepage. Review the parameters of the fund and answer the 3 simple questions to find out if you may be eligible for the C.A.P.S. program. The Eligibility Calculator will be available from October 22, 2014 until April 3, 2015 at noon. The Eligibility Calculator is completely anonymous and will indicate immediately whether you may be eligible for the C.A.P.S. program and the preliminary amount of your Tuition Cap / Freeze.

STEP 2: Complete the Application Form and receive instant results
If the Eligibility Calculator says you may be eligible for the C.A.P.S. program, you will be prompted to complete the online Application Form. After submitting the Application Form, you will be notified immediately by email if you have been approved for the C.A.P.S. program with the amount of your Tuition Cap / Freeze. *This decision is based on the information you provided in your Application Form. Your eligibility will be confirmed in the spring of 2015 upon receipt and review of the necessary documents and confirmation of your child(ren)'s enrolment at a qualifying Jewish day school.
*NOTE: All applicants, returning and new, must complete the Application Form in order to be deemed eligible for the C.A.P.S. program.

STEP 3: Submit the required financial documents by June 30, 2015
In the spring of 2015, you will be notified by email to provide your financial documents via secure upload. We highly recommend that eligible families file their income taxes early to not delay their acceptance to the C.A.P.S. program.
Required documents: The 2014 Notice of Assessment from Revenu Quebec, for each parent. You may also be asked to provide other supporting documents that attest to your financial situation.

STEP 4: Enroll in a qualifying Jewish day school
Enroll your child(ren) in a qualifying Jewish day school for the 2015-16 school year. Please visit our homepage for a list of qualifying Jewish day schools.

STEP 5: Receive confirmation of acceptance into the C.A.P.S. program
Once your 2014 gross household income and your child(ren)'s enrolment is confirmed by the Generations Fund, you will receive confirmation of acceptance into the C.A.P.S. program. You will receive an email outlining the Tuition Caps / Freezes and additional reductions if applicable, and the school(s) in which your child(ren) is/are enrolled will invoice you accordingly. *For eligible Kindergarten and Secondary I students, an additional $1,800 reduction will be calculated.

STEP 6: Re-apply each year to maintain your eligibility
The Generations Fund C.A.P.S. program is committed to providing subsidies and freezing tuition for eligible families for the remaining duration of your child(ren)'s education at that school (from Kindergarten through grade 6 and from Secondary I through Secondary V), as long as your gross household income and number of children attending a qualifying Jewish day school remain the same each year. Each year, parents will be required to re-apply and to submit the required documents in order to maintain their eligibility into the C.A.P.S. program.
